Claudia Ann Della Sala

Monterey ~ Claudia Ann Della Sala passed away on July 8 after a long battle with cancer. She fought her illness with the strength and heart of a gladiator. Claudia was born December 10, 1960 in Providence, RI to Fiore and Dora Troia. A graduate of Johnston High School, she received her Associate Degree in Medical Administration from Johnson and Wales University. Claudia worked as a medical administrator for Metropolitan Life for fourteen years and Providence Center for five years. She has made her home in Monterey since 2003 following her marriage to her loving husband, Anthony.

Claudia was a member of San Carlos Cathedral. Her favorite times were those spent with her family. She especially enjoyed volunteering at her son’s school and being involved with his activities and she loved working in her garden. Claudia was always the first to offer help to her family and friends.

In addition to her husband, Anthony, Claudia is survived by the light of her life, her beloved son, Antonio; her siblings, Chris and his children, Chris and Brianna; Linda (Al) and their children, Andrea (James) and their child, Jaxxon, Jennifer and Albert (Carla) and Sylvia and her son, Sylvio. She is also survived by her mother and father-in-law, Rose and Charles Della Sala; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Anna Marie (Robert) Stanton, Charles II (Sandy) and their children, Alexandria (Brian) Neff and son, Graham, and Charles III, Kathy (Tony) Shepherd and Maryann Randolph and her children, Don, Jr. and Nicole (George) Juarez and their children, Silvano, Kiauna, Giorgio, Marcelo and Carmine.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at San Carlos Cathedral on Thursday, July 14 at 9:30 AM. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Cathedral at 500 Church St., Monterey, 93940.
