David John Deacon

David John Deacon, age 75, of Seaside, California passed away on March 11, 2022. David was born February 3, 1947. He leaves his beloved wife Betty of 43 years, their son Chris, and Chris' wife Justine.

David enjoyed life. He loved spending time with his family. When Chris was growing up, David played Mr. Mom and he always looked at that as the best years of his life. He enjoyed working with the sheriff’s department as McGruff the Crime Dog and as a volunteer for sporting activities on the motor squad. David loved working in the theatre as an actor, director, lighting designer, and reviewer. David also worked as an extra in several films, including Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home. He created the children's show Captain Guppy for local television and worked as a co-star in A Manor of Mayhem. David and Betty had a successful decorative balloon business called A Balloon on the Horizon for 25 years, and David loved creating the balloon drop for New Year's Eve.

A memorial service for David will be held on Friday, April 29, 2022 at 4:00 PM at The Paul Mortuary, 390 Lighthouse Avenue, Pacific Grove, California 93950.
