Donald Earl Smull, 93, of Portland, Oregon passed away on October 30, 2023. He was a loving son, husband, father, and friend. Donald was known for his resilience, kindness, and wry sense of humor. He developed lifelong childhood friendships and was proud to be an Eagle Scout. He enjoyed outdoor activities, including team sports, hiking, camping, fishing, and skiing.
Later in life, Donald had a range of interests, including traveling, reading, listening to country and classical music, and supporting the Oregon Trailblazers and Oregon College Football. He is survived by his daughter Tracy Plowman, son Jeff Smull, stepsons Gary Clark, Steven Clark, Greg Brown, and grandson Max Plowman. He was preceded in death by his wives Claree Crocheron, Shirely Smull, Barbara Brown, daughter Kimberly Smull, and half-sister Louise Grant.
Donald graduated from Lincoln High School. He furthered his education at Whitman College. He proudly served in the US Air Force from 1951 to 1955.
Donald worked as a Manufacturer Sales Representative for Biltwell Furniture in Portland and later became the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Spring Air Mattress Co. in Tacoma, Washington.
Services for Donald will be held at River View Cemetery in Portland, Oregon, on November 20th, 2023.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Parkinson Foundation or Oregon Public Radio in memory of Donald Smull.
