Mehringer
Mehringer – Elizabeth Jane, age 88, died on December 22 in Monterey. Widow of Robert “Bob” Mehringer, Elizabeth was a native of Monterey where she lived 84 years of her life on Montecito Avenue. Born August 16, 1924, Elizabeth was a Monterey High School graduate, a civilian armorer at Fort Ord for the 7th Infantry Division during WWII, a homemaker who enjoyed reading and needlepoint. She worked for the phone company prior to her 58-year marriage to Robert.
Elizabeth is survived by her sons Bruce (Sandra) of Monterey and Larry (Brenda) of Saratoga. Her grandchildren Jennifer (Ron) Slocum, Jason (Cristy) Mehringer, Tim (Lexi) Mehringer, Scott Mehringer, Joel Lockwood, and Russell Lockwood. Her great-grandchildren Sierrah and Colby Slocum; Tylor Mehringer; Adella and Nolan Mehringer; Kaila, Jordyn and Jeffere Lockwood; Haley and Nikki Lockwood; brother-in-law Glenn Berry of Monterey; cousin Leila Schnyder of Eureka; and nephew Richard Hillbun, III of Carmel. Elizabeth was preceded in death by brothers Richard Hillbun II, Robert Hillbun and Harvey Hillbun; and niece, Gail Hillbun.
The family appreciates the care provided at Carmelo Park where Elizabeth resided the past 4 years.
A private family memorial service is planned at a later date.
