Elizabeth J. Stogsdill died on April 15, 2018 in Pacific Grove, California. Libby, as she was known, was born September 20, 1920 in Oak Park, Illinois to Ralph and Amelia Tiffany. She and her three brothers had a wonderful childhood with a lovely home in River Forest, Illinois and a summer home in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. Libby was an avid swimmer and enjoyed sailing and water skiing.
Later, in her teens, she moved to the San Francisco Bay Area. She modeled and then did interior decorating. She married Jack E. Morris and had a home in Moraga, California. During the war years, Libby worked for the office of Price Administration while her husband served with Dwight D. Eisenhower and rose to the rank of Colonel. Unable to have children, Libby was godmother to her brothers’ several children and loved being an aunt. After the war, and her husband home, she worked for two physicians for many years. Jack Morris predeceased her.
Libby moved to the Monterey Peninsula in 1978 and married William S. Stogsdill. They established a home in Pebble Beach and she helped her husband in his career as an advertising executive. They founded Creative Concepts, an advertising agency. Their home was the center of neighborhood parties and dinners. She loved entertaining family, friends and clients. They had wonderful trips and cruises and enjoyed an occasional weekend in San Francisco seeing plays and shopping. Bill died in 1982. Libby continued to live in this area. She did volunteer work for the Museum of Art and was a member of the Monterey Civic Club for a time.
At Libby’s request, there will be no service. Private interment will take place at Sunset Mausoleum in Kensington, California under the direction of The Paul Mortuary.
