Emily Hudelson of Carmel passed away peacefully on June 2. Emily was born on April 15, 1917 in Gonzalez, California. She lived in Carmel with her late husband John E. Hudelson.
Emily is survived by her son, Jeffery Hudelson, and his wife Lorraine Hudelson of Courtenay, British Columbia; her grandson, Ian Cooney, and his wife, Cassie, of San Francisco; her granddaughter, Bryn Stafford, and her husband, Patrick, of Monterey; and her adored great-grandsons, Callan Cooney and Remy Stafford. She was predeceased by her husband John E. Hudelson, and her daughter, Jeani Cooney.
Emmie was an avid bridge, poker and cribbage card player; she was well known for hosting weekly gatherings in her card room at her home in Carmel with her friends. She was an accomplished baker, known for her famous creampuffs, cookies and zucchini bread; which she baked well into her 90s. She loved gardening, especially colorful flowers which you could always find in abundance around her home. She was a life-long fan of the San Francisco Giants, following every game each season. Emmie will be immensely missed by her family and her many friends.
