
Jeanne Masuda, age 92, died peacefully at Canterbury Woods, Pacific Grove, CA on March 21, 2012. She was born November 7, 1919 in Cooperstown, North Dakota, to The Reverend William Bennett and Julia Smith Bennett of Cupids Bay, Newfoundland. A 1942 graduate of the University of Montana, Jeanne worked as a librarian in Baltimore, Minneapolis, and Kalispell Montana before marrying The Reverend George T. Masuda, who became the first Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of North Dakota in Fargo, N.D. She is survived by two sons, David Masuda of Seattle, WA and Michael Masuda of Carmel Valley, CA, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A memorial service will be held at St. Mary’s-By-The-Sea, 12th Street and Central Avenue, Pacific Grove, CA on Monday, March 26, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to St. Mary’s-By-The-Sea where Jeanne was a member and a thrift shop volunteer.
