Fatih Ildiz passed away quietly surrounded by his wife, mother, aunt and sister early Thursday morning following a long battle with cancer.
Born in Istanbul, Turkey to Nahide and Kemal Ildiz, he came to the United States to attend the Naval Postgraduate School, where he earned his Masters Degree in electrical engineering with high honors.
While he was attending college, he met the love of his life, Dorothy, and they had a wonderful, beautiful life together for 25 years.
There wasn’t a person who met Fatih who didn’t love him. He leaves behind his sister, Filiz Misirli, and a large, loving family in Turkey, all of Dorothy’s family, who loved and adored him. He was the best uncle ever to his 5 beautiful nieces, and was “uncle” to many. He was well loved by the local Turkish community, including “his other family.” He was also “daddy” to his little dog, Buddy.
He was a kind soul, who left a lasting impression and the world has lost one of the greatest men ever.
Dorothy would like to thank Faith’s close friends, Zafer and Carol Anne Inceoglu for their undying love, support, food and transportation, Yavuz and Emriye Arkan for their constant love, support and friendship, Dr. Thomas Bradley, his staff, the nurses at The Cancer Center at CHOMP and his colleagues at TIBCO for their tremendous support and constant love.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to his favorite charities, Animal Friends Rescue Project, P.O. Box 51083, Pacific Grove, CA 93950 or Meals on Wheels of Monterey Peninsula, C/O Sally Griffith Senior Center, 700 Jewell Ave., Pacific Grove, CA 93950.
