Annabelle graduated in 1950 as a Registered Nurse from Miami Valley Hospital School of Nursing. She was immensely proud of being an RN and encouraged others to pursue the profession.
After moving to California in the early 1950’s, she worked as an RN in Los Angeles. It was in LA that she met a handsome Frenchman, Robert, who became her beloved husband of 44 years.
Annabelle and family moved to Carmel Valley in 1969 where she lived for 43 years before moving to Texas to be near her daughter.
A great lover of books, she instilled the joy of reading in her children and was a longtime supporter of the Carmel Valley Library. She enjoyed French champagne, lively conversation and always welcomed big, warm hugs.
A lifelong Methodist, Annabelle enjoyed singing in the choir and was a member of the Church of the Wayfarer for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, and by her 5 siblings, all of Ohio.
Left to cherish her memory are her beloved children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews and those whose lives she touched.
Graveside services will be held privately at San Carlos Cemetery. The Paul Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Friends of the Carmel Valley Library, PO Box 248 Carmel Valley, CA 93924, or online at FOCVL.org under “Be a Friend”.
