Pacific Grove ~ Francis H. Casey, born in Wells, Michigan, passed away following a period of failing health. He served twenty-seven years in the US Air Force and was awarded the Bronze Star in recognition of his outstanding service, initiative, leadership and devotion to duty from as chief of the Pusan, Korea bureau of the Pacific Stars and Stripes.
Francis and his wife moved to Pacific Grove following his retirement from the Air Force in 1970. He worked as a printer for the Pacific Grove Tribune, Instant Copy & Printing and the Naval Postgraduate School.
Francis was a longtime member of St. Angela Merici Church where, for many years, he was an usher every morning for the 8:00 AM mass. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Air Force Society and the American Legion. He enjoyed traveling, bowling and fishing in Monterey Bay.
Francis is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Nori.
At his request, no services will be held. Memorial donations are suggested to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, c/o St. Angela Merici Church, 146 – 8th St., Pacific Grove, 93950.
