Frank George Silvestri

In 1952, he was drafted and served his country in Korea.

In September 1955 he married the love of his life, Arlene Ann Constanti. They were married for almost 64 years.

Frank and Arlene enjoyed each other immensely. Whether it was owning a breakfast place in their early marriage on the wharf, to traveling either to Tahoe or Hawaii and even going on a memorable trip to New Zealand when they both retired. They enjoyed hosting parties and events at their home, especially the annual Christmas Eve Dinner Party.

In 2019 Arlene passed away after a long illness. During the last 5 years he was devoted to Arlene and made sure she was comfortable until the end.

Together they had three children, Julie, Bret & Scott. As a parent Frank was always present and showed his support to his children through love while teaching his children about the real world in a safe environment and preparing them to be the successful and well-rounded individuals, they are today. Later in life, Frank would make the same impact on his six grandchildren.

Frank worked for Granite Construction for 38 years. Upon leaving Granite. Frank never liked the idea of “retiring” so worked as a Golf Marshal at Del Monte Golf Course. At the same time, at age 68, he lent his expertise in the industry to his son’s own company, Silvestri Construction.

Frank was active in the community as well. He volunteered for Crosby (now AT&T) and the Conquers D’ Elegance. He was a member of the Pisano Club and Elks Lodge.

Frank was a man’s man through and through. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing & camping. He also loved his horses, especially 4, 5 & 6.

Frank made a lasting impact not only with his family but with people he worked with, met either on the street or during his travels and especially with his children’s friends who some have grown to think of Frank as second father. His wisdom, albeit direct and funny, will be missed.

Frank was a straight shooter and didn’t pretend to be anyone or anything else. What you saw is what you got. If you knew Frank that was special enough.

Frank passed away peacefully after a very brief illness and there was no pain. He is predeceased in death by his mother, Hannah, father, Frank, and his three brothers, Atillio, Stan & Donald. Also, his beloved wife, Arlene.

He is survived by his three children, Julie, Bret (Tina) and Scott (Toby) Silvestri. His six grandchildren, countless nieces and nephews, cousins, sister in-law, brother in-law and many friends.

You know you’ve done life right when at almost 95 everyone wanted more time with you. We should all be so lucky.

Celebration of Life will be on August 27th at 10:30am at St. Angela Merici located at 362 Lighthouse Ave. Pacific Grove, CA 93950.
