

Joseph Nicholas Graziano, age 72, died suddenly on July 29, 2016 at his home in Pacific Grove after a short illness. Born June 22, 1944, in Los Angeles, California, Joe attended Loyola High School and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. As a young man, he served in the US Coast Guard Reserve.
Joe began his career as a journalist with the Las Vegas Sun. While working for the Santa Maria Times, he met the love of his life, Virginia. In 1975, he moved to Flagstaff, Arizona to serve as managing editor for the Northern Arizona News. He and his wife fell in love with Pacific Grove and moved there in 1977. At the Monterey County Herald, he wrote the Professor Toro column and served as sports editor. After leaving the Herald, he worked in public relations and as a concierge for the Embassy Suites in Monterey.
Joe will be dearly missed by his wife of 45 years, his daughter Nicole, and all who knew him. The family would like to thank Dr. Craig Christensen, Dr. Jerry Rubin, and especially Dr. Bradley Tamler for their humor and compassion.
A memorial mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 11:00 am at St. Angela Merici Catholic Church in Pacific Grove.
