Carmel ~ Joseph S. Szewczak, age 92, died peacefully in his home. Joseph, born in Detroit, left Michigan in his 30's, moving to California. He then spent a few years living in Hawaii, returning to California where he married his wife, Ethel. They moved to Oregon then came back to California, settling in Carmel.
Joe was very devoted to Ethel who preceded him in death some 13 years ago. He was an architect by profession, with a serious hobby in photography, having some of his work published. An avid hiker well it his 80’s, Joe also enjoyed taking classes at the local college and was, until recent years, active in the missionary church.
