Kathy Ann Hayes Matthews

Kathy Matthews passed away on September 28th 2015 after a yearlong battle with Myashtenia Gravis and ALS. She is survived by her husband, Lindsay; two sons, Bryan and Kevin and grandson, Will. Kathy was born in Tokyo, Japan on July 11th 1947 where her parents met and were married shortly after World War II. She grew up as an army brat; living in Germany, Kentucky, Michigan, California (Fort Ord), and Virginia, before eventually moving back to CA where she attended and graduated Ramona High School in 1965. In 1976, she began her career in the field of medical transcription. She worked on and off for a total of 29 years at Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula from 1976 until retiring in 2013. In 1976, she met the love of her life, Lindsay, and they were married in 1978 settling in Prunedale where they raised their sons. She enjoyed gardening roses and taking family vacations, visiting many national parks throughout the USA.
