Sharon and I are very sorry to get the news about the passing of my football coach, Irv Wilson. I had the experience of playing for Coach his first year of coaching at Belfry High School, Belfry, KY. He was a great player as well as a great coach at Belfry. He was only five years older than the seniors on that team. He was a football genius.  He was one of the forerunners that brought Belfry to statewide recognization. Years later he became a close friend to our family.  Sharon and I always looked forward to seeing him at Belfry reunions. We also want to pass our condolances to Cullen his brother.  Rest in peace Coach.  We love and miss you.

I am sorry to that cousin Irvin has passed away. He was a good person. I like talking with him about our family history.He and I passed information to each about our family tree. I am the granddaughter of Claude and Dora Wilson. My dad is Lowell Wilson. He will be missed at the reunions. My prayers go with the family.

I am so sorry to hear that Irv passed.  I met him finally at the Wilson family reunion and he was collecting data on our family.  I am Claude Wilsons' granddaughter Sharon.  My mom is Arlene (Wilson) Markin daughter of Claude and Dora.  Irv is missed by our family and we were saddened by the news of his passing. I wish I had more time to get to know him better..

I'm so very sorry for your loss. Irv was a strong individual who was so very proud of his family. We could feel the pride when he spoke of you all so well so often. I know you will dearly miss him, as will all of us who worked with him. He was a 'one-of-a-kind' and I'm so glad I was able to work with him and count him as a friend.

I worked with Irv at CTB/McGraw-Hill, and although I didn't know him as well as others, he always made me laugh. He had a great attitude and it rubbed off on his co-workers. He will surely be missed.

Irv was a wonderful person to be around..he always was ready and able to give a pat on the back for job well done...We both started working at McGraw-Hill in Monterey in1978..He would alway give praise on the jobs I did for him, so it was really nice working with or for him!  Irv is going to be missed.... !

Irv was an original. He was part of that ‘ole gang of ours. I worked with Irv in the field and at the home office. I remember him in the early 80's at our January sales conferences at the Del Monte Hyatt, with late nights and early mornings, he enjoyed life and his work. He always seemed to be working with customers and giving it every bit of effort he could to make sure CTB looked good and met their expectations. I'll miss him and his spirit very much.

I also worked with Irv at CTB/McGraw-Hill when he was in the home office and he would call me if he needed some things shipped to a customer.  He did most of our computer training and he sometimes did have a "gruff" tone in his voice, but he was the sweetest person.  He taught my daugher Sarah how to swim at one of your summer meetings in Minnesota and he will always have a special place in our hearts.  We love you Irv and miss you.

I worked with Irv at CTB/McGraw-Hill as a consultant in Louisiana.  Irv was always generous with his time and very helpful to me and my customers.  They loved him! He was a special man.

I was very saddened to learn of Irv's sudden passing.  I first met Irv in 1974 when he and I underwent Xerox sales training in Barry Baylor's attic...quite an experience!   I worked with Irv in field sales and later at the home office and found that behind that sometimes "gruff exterior" lay a heart of gold.  He unquestionably helped CTB to move into the electronic product age.  He will be missed.

Irv was my math teacher teacher, football and wrestling coach at Kent State HS. It was because of Coach that I was able to go on to Indiana University on a full ride in football. He was without question the best person and coach one could ask for.
He was definitely the best football coach I ever played for on any level.
When I asked him to represent me on father's day (my father passed when I was in 8th grade) at Indiana University he didn't hesitate to get up at 4:30 am after a Friday night HS game in Kent, Oh. and drive the 61/2 hrs. to be there for me.
He was and is one of my most unforgettable people in my life.

I'm sorry to hear of your loss. Coach Wilson was my teacher and coach in the late 1960's at Kent State High School. He was instrumental to me becoming a teacher and coach myself for several years after college. He even became my supervisor for my student teaching at the university.  I had the opportunity to re-connect and speak with Coach a few years back. He was tough on us as students and players and he pushed us hard making  us into better people. I'm grateful that I knew him and wish your family the best at this difficult time.

Seija and I (Tonni) were very sad when we heard that Irv had passed away. I worked with Irv at CTB from when he joined the company until we both retired in 1998. We have many great memories of Irv and shall miss him very much. He and I spoke at the CTB 25 year luncheon on December 16 and was shocked to read the newspaper that he had passed only a couple of days later. He was a wonderful friend and colleque with a great sense of humor. We shall miss him very much. Tonni and Seija Larsen, Pacific Grove, CA.

I just don't know how to put into words how sad I am to hear that Irv has passed. He was funny, serious, warm and loved all of his jobs at CTB. They weren't always the best of times, especially at shipping test scoring results. I have so many wonderful memories of the good old days at CTB.  I am so honored to have known him both professionally and personally. I am so glad I saw him just two days before at our annual McGraw-Hill 25 Year Luncheon. Little did most of us know that it would be the last time. Irv, please rest in peace and know that we are all praying for you and your loved ones left behind. I'll miss you.

Irvin was on football team at Belfry High School with me and in several classes with both Ruby and I.  Ruby has worked genealogy with Irvin for several years and enjoyed sharing information.
He was a man of many ideas and hobbies.
So sorry that he has gone.  My best to Cullen and the other members of his family.  As his wife, Ruth Ann was my cousin, I regret the passing of both.

Irvin, 'Mr. Wilson', was my geometry teacher at Belfry High School.  He teased me that someday he would give me a 'B' grade instead of an 'A' because he didn't think I studied enough.  Great teacher!  I enjoyed reading about his accomplishments in life.  Eleanor Sue (Chapman) Crisp
