Mrs. Luisa Ruiz Naranjo
(Mother of Ms. Rafaela Ann Gutierrez)
BORN: AUGUST 9, 1932
CALLED TO LORD: JULY 27, 2011
Victoria, TX ~ In the early morning hours of July 27, 2011, our dearly beloved, blessed Mother was gently scooped up by Angels and Saints at the Lord’s command and entrusted into His loving arms to reside with Him in joy and happiness in the Kingdom of Paradise-Heaven, forever and ever. After eleven and a half years of suffering and no ‘why me?’, He lovingly accepted His faithful servant who never once waivered in her faith in Him. Her life was dedicated, entrusted to Him while she roamed the Earth and this she passed onto her children.
Luisa was born in Telferner, TX and moved to Victoria, TX shortly after where she went to school, worked, married and raised seven children. She is survived by her children: Eva G. Casarez, Rafaela Ann Gutierrez, Jesus and Richard Gutierrez, and Rebecca Schrum; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as well as remaining brothers and sisters. She was predeceased in death by her parents, Mr. Pablo and Felicitas Ruiz, two children, and a grandchild.
Luisa’s greatest joys in life were her faith in her Lord and Christ, Mother Mary, her Saints and church, her children and grand/great-grandchildren. She enjoyed a quest for knowledge, gardening, cooking, and helping those in need. She was gracious, compassionate, virtuous, and humble. In her life it was always His will, not hers, be done. “The Lord is the giver of life and he can choose when that life is ready to go on and be with Him”.
We shall miss you dearly Mother dearest, but you left us beautiful memories and you live on in us. Though your physical body is gone, your spirit shall never die. No more pain, just joy in Paradise. It will always soar and, one day, we shall meet again and we will know. We love you and miss you.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Carmel Mission Basilica at 2:00 PM this Friday, December 16th, 2011 with Rev. John Griffin officiating, followed by burial at San Carlos Cemetery in Monterey. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Heart Association, 1514-A Moffett St., Salinas, CA, 93905.
