Dear Howell Family - Was so sad to hear of Betty's passing.  I absolutely loved both Betty and Charlie.  They both were so gracious to us when we would come to visit them on Ripple. Seems that graciousness runs in the family.  Always so fun to be around and to talk about our family history.  Betty is one of the most precious people I have ever known. Always a smile on her face.  I will miss her.

How well I remember both Mrs Betty & Coach Charlie..I remember when the family lived around the corner from us on Divisadero we lived on Sea View. That was before they sold their home to Dr Will Light who turned it in to his Medical Office. Many good memories of good people who are no longer with us....Rest in Peace, you are together again...

Betty was such a super special lady and I treasure the many,many hours we spent together on so many volunteer projects.  When Betty was there to share, it always became wonderful and fun - even the days and nights we worked together for the American Heart Association. I couldn't possibly name the many projects the four of us were a part of together for so many, many years.  She and Charlie can never be replaced as they were the ones we always went to for help and advice.  They didn't know the word "no" when asked to help - NEVER!  We simply can't say enough about how much they added to our lives and how priveleged we have been to be a part of theirs.  Thank you!  Thank you!  Thank you!   Forever, Howard and Wynette Cowen

My condolences to Betty's family. Your mom and I were best friends for many years.  She alway was fun to be around.  She was a wonderful mother and a beautiful woman and always had a perfect hair-do.  I treasuré my memories that I have of her and all the fun things we did together.

My memories of "Mrs. Howell" date back to when I was in elementary school, when she and my mom were good friends. I remember her as being a very kind and interesting woman, with a wonderful smile. She and Charlie's involvement at PG High and the community helped make Pacific Grove an incredible place to grow up. We were very lucky to know her. May she rest in peace.

  My Condolences to the Family, both Betty and Charley were wonderful people to be around and I have some fond memoirs of there life.
