Monterey
Mary Zweig, originally from New York, long-time resident of California and fifteen-year resident of Monterey, passed away in Santa Cruz on Monday May 18th. Mary was a passionate musician and a gifted story-teller, bringing joy to many. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from the Eastman School of Music. Mary is survived by her children, Catherine (Matthew Reynolds) Zweig and Nick (Angelica) Zweig; her grandsons, Max Reynolds and Marcus Zweig; her siblings, Phil and Connie Newton; her former husband, Hans Zweig, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her companion, Stephen Toback, in 2008. Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Santa Cruz Youth Symphony (http://www.sccys.org).
