First and all i want to thank you for loving lil shia .I just got the news from My dear Julie  of your passing may you be in the arms of God !!My last memory of you was your beautiful smile and your england accent and how lovely you and Julie lived in your beautiful home .You will truly be missed by all who loved you very much and your forever boy Lil Shia 


We met Maurice and Julie  in the 1980's at the Peppertree Ranch Art Shows in Santa Ynez  and became friends.
 He was a lovely, kind, elegant man.  We shared many lunches and dinners together over the years and were privileged to show his paintings .    I know he is with all the animals he saved.  We will remember him with great fondness, affection  and will miss him dearly. 

Dear Julie,  my thoughts are with you at this time.  I remember times I visited your California home, and especially my late husband Tonys many visits when you lived in Los Angeles.  Two of Maurices wonderful painting are on the wall of my lounge, here in New Zealand.

Maurice and Julia shared a love of animals.

My Wife and I have known Maurice for over 60 years, starting when he emigrated to Canada in 1957 and we maintained our friendship when he moved to California, to take a position in the animation studios.    He was Godfather to all of our children, Laura, Nancy and Jason.   We have visited with Maurice and his wife, Julia, many times over the years, as have Laura and Jason and we have always been welcomed.   I am an artist my self and have benefited from Maurice's generous advice.   He will be sorely missed by our family and, I am sure, by all those who have known him.
