Phyllis Eileen Holtz

She was born September 5, 1925, to John H. and Verda L. (Hall) Benn in Peoria, IL. She married Roy H. Holtz on August 4, 1950, at Bethel Presbyterian Church in Peoria, IL.

Surviving is their daughter Sharon Lee, of Corral de Tierra; sister Delores Nieukirk of Tucson, AZ; nephew Gary (Karen) Weiman; and niece Leanne Nieukirk. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Roy; and sister Maxine Weiman.

Phyllis graduated from Peoria’s Manual Training High School in 1943. After graduation, she worked at National Cylinder Gas Company and Caterpillar Tractor Company, both in Peoria, IL.

After her marriage, she moved to California with Roy, settling in Pacific Grove in 1950.

She worked for the Monterey County Superior Court for more than 27 years, retiring in 1988.

Phyllis was a longtime volunteer with the Meals on Wheels of the Monterey Peninsula Auxiliary.

A Memorial Service will be held at Canterbury Woods, 651 Sinex Avenue, Pacific Grove, CA on Saturday, October 10 at 2:30 in the afternoon, with a reception following.
