Providence Ann Randazzo Calabrese Belleci was born in Monterey on Flag Day, June 14,1929, and passed away peacefully on June 15th, 2026, surrounded by her beloved children and grandson at the age of 97.
Pansy was preceded in death by Peter Calabrese, her loving husband of 26 years; her precious son, Peter Calabrese Jr. in 1996; and Vincent Belleci, her cherished husband of 39 years in 2015. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Frances and Cosimo Randazzo, and her sisters, Rose Tarantino and Eva Flores.
Pansy was the heart of our big Italian family. Always the first to encourage family picnics in the park on the spur of the moment, trips to Calistoga, camping in Big Sur and summers at Konocti Harbor resort on Clear Lake.
She brought warmth, laughter and joy to every gathering and her many nieces and nephews couldn’t wait for her to come up with a new idea. When Auntie Pansy said, “let’s go”, we all piled into the car and followed. Nobody wanted to miss the fun.
A proud and devoted member of the Italian community, Pansy belonged to the Italian Catholic Federation, The Festa Italia Santa Rosalia and The Italian Heritage Foundation. She also dedicated more than 30 years of service to the Monterey Peninsula Unified School District, where she was admired for her hard work and commitment.
Her deep faith in God, love of family, and devotion to country sustained her through life’s greatest challenges, but Pansy’s vibrant personality and love for her children, Antonia (J.J) Ruccello, Michael Calabrese, her treasured grandson, John (Gabriella) Ruccello, her surviving sister, Christine Tringali and a large extended family of nieces and nephews was the centerpiece of her life and her proudest legacy. The family extends their sincere thanks to Nisa who cared for their mother with patience and kindness.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, 10:00 A.M. at San Carlos Cathedral, Monterey, California.
