Bob was born in Minnesota, and his family moved to San Mateo to later settle in Fresno. Bob played baseball in his youth and was a devoted SF Giants fan. He developed a profound skill and talent for motors of all kinds. He loved to restore cars and motorcycles and opened his own business in Santa Cruz, where he had a loyal clientele. Bob was married to his wife Mary for 32 years. They enjoyed gardening, home improvement projects, family gatherings, and camping together. Bob’s daughters Emma and Olivia loved to fish, camp, and learn about cars with their father. Throughout his life he was surrounded by a large family and many friends.
Bob is survived by his wife Mary, daughters Emma and Olivia, his two sisters Sue Bering, Mary Salling, and four brothers David, Paul, John and Kevin Kocina. Bob was uncle to many nieces and nephews. Bob’s presence, personality, and sheer brilliance in being able to fix just about anything will be greatly missed. He was loved by many.
Everyone's safety and health are very important to us at this time. When we can safely gather we will be having a celebration of Bob’s life.
