

Robert J. McGuinness, a native of Columbus, Ohio, passed away at Community Hospital. After serving in the US Army, he received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of San Francisco. Following a 44-year career in banking, Robert retired to the Monterey Peninsula where he has lived for the past eighteen years. He worked for five years for the Pebble Beach Company.
Robert enjoyed golfing, traveling, hiking, gardening and watching college football games. He was a former member of the University Club in Pasadena and the Elks Club in Marin County.
Robert is survived by his wife of 61 years, Zanita; his sons, Kevin and Andrew McGuinness; his granddaughter, Shannon; his siblings, Thomas and James McGuinness and Lucy Mitchell; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Robert III, in 2012 and by his siblings, Francis McGuinness, Mary Jo Grodsky and Martha Kerr.
Memorial services will be held at St. John’s Chapel in Monterey this Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Home of Guiding Hands, 1825 Gillespie Way, El Cajon, CA 92020 or to the donor’s favorite charity.
