Roger Jahn Thornhill

Marina, CA - Roger J. Thornhill, age 78, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2013. He was born to Alice Jahn and John Thornhill on September 14, 1934 in New York, New York. A 55-year resident of the Monterey Peninsula, he retired as a Command Sergeant Major in the U.S. Army after a career spanning over 20 years.

Roger is survived by his loving wife, Erlinda; his daughters, Margaret, Kathleen, and Linda; his step-daughters, June and Elaine; his three grandchildren and four step-grandchildren. Roger was predeceased by his first wife, Shigeko.

Roger’s family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Dr. John Kennedy and to the CNA’s, nurses, physical therapists and staff at Cypress Ridge Care Center for all their wonderful and compassionate care of Roger.

A Graveside Service will take place at Monterey City Cemetery (Cementerio El Encinal) on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 10:00 a.m.
