Carmel
Born in Hanford, California, Rose has been a Monterey Peninsula resident since the age of two. She attended Sunset School in Carmel and was a graduate of Monterey High School, Class of 1940.
Rose’s mother taught her how to sew as a young girl and she became a gifted seamstress, knitter, crocheter and quilter. She and her husband were long-time members of the Carmel Valley Gem and Mineral Society and seventeen-year members the Community Hospital Auxiliary. When her children were young, Rose was actively involved in all their school and scouting events.
Rose is survived by her husband of sixty-eight years, Ewell E. Cole; her children, Jim (Renae) Dodd of Santee, Mike (Carolyn Swartz) Cole of Corral de Tierra, Marilyn Cole of Pacific Grove, Buzz (Elaine) Cole of Monterey and Peggy (Rod) McMahan of Carmel Valley; her sister, Ruth Westcott of Carmel and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
At her request, there will be no services.
