

Roy Meazell passed away on April 27, 2020 at the age of 88. He was the only child of Clarence Meazell and Susie Bell Benson (nee Fincher). He was born in Kaufman, Texas in 1932 and moved with his family to California as a young boy.
Roy was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was dearly loved by his wife Barbara for 62 years. Also left to mourn his passing are their children, Mike (Lita) Meazell, and
Loretta (Rich) Riley, grandchildren, Jennifer (Devin), Kayla, Lindsay, Megan (Thomas), Kate (Joe), Kyle (Janan), Keefer (Brooke), Kiran (Nick), great-grandchildren, Melody, Huxley, Emiline, Mina, Rex, Oliver, and Camden.
Roy attended Mark Keppel High School and upon graduating, enlisted in the US Air Force where he achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant and received an honorable discharge after serving his country for four years. After attaining the level of Journeyman Carpenter, Roy settled his family in Pacific Grove and was the owner/operator of Peninsula ServiceMaster for 30 years.
Roy had many interests, he was a skilled woodworker, he loved to travel with Barbara and many times included their grandchildren in their adventures. Roy never stopped learning, he loved history, and tinkering in his garage on his Model A Fords.
Memorials may be made in his honor to Meals on Wheels of the Monterey Peninsula, 700 Jewell Ave., Pacific Grove, 93950. Interment will be at the California Central Coast Veterans Cemetery at the former Fort Ord with services at a later date.
