SEASIDE - Steve Nunnally, 57, passed away from complications due to pneumonia on May 24, 2012. He was born in Salinas and attended the Washington Union School District and Salinas High School. He moved to San Francisco in his early twenties. While there, he was a local and long haul truck driver for a few different companies. He also held various office positions and worked for a Chinese medicine clinic on a variety of levels. Four years ago he moved to Seaside, taking a position as a substitute school bus driver working for the Washington Union School District and the Monterey Peninsula Unified School District.
Steve enjoyed reading, studying Buddhism, living in San Francisco's Richmond District, movies, meals with friends, and practical joking. He had a great smile and made a difference in the world, wherever he was. The support that he gave to his siblings will always be treasured.
Steve is survived by two brothers, Fred (Terry) of San Francisco, Mark (Kathleen) of Modesto; a sister, Sandra of Salinas; nieces and nephews, Daniel, Kathryn, Andrew, Elizabeth, Erik, John, Sarah, and Adam. His neighbors and many friends in both San Francisco and the Monterey area will remember him fondly. His parents, Joe and Rose Nunnally, preceded him in death.
A celebration of his life will be held at the Nunnally family house by the Park ‘n Ride on Laureles Grade at Highway 68 in Salinas on Saturday, June 23, 2012 from 1 to 4 pm. If you would like to contact a family member, email [email protected].
