Tom was a kind and wonderful person. He was my principal at Del Rey Woods Elementary School in the 1980s. It was a joy to work for someone so supportive and easy to talk to. I also appreciated the fact that he kept things simple and straight forward. I was lucky to have had a chance to work with him. I am very glad our paths crossed.
My best wishes to all of his family,
Susan Siegel

In Tom's parents' small apartment on Addison Street in Chicago his parents proudly displayed a picture of Tom as a high school senior who had won a Catholic All American award. Another picture proudly displayed was that of a mailbox that his father, Ray Coyne Senior. built for Tom's house in California.
