Vincent A. Liguori, born April 11, 1949 in New York, NY, passed away on June 16 following a courageous battle with cancer. When he was a year old, his family moved to Monterey and Vince attended local schools before graduating from Monterey High School. He then attended Christ for the Nations College in Dallas where he met his future wife, Jeanette.
Vince and Jeanette then returned to Monterey where they started a family and he returned to the family business, Liberty Fish Company, on Fisherman’s Wharf. You could find him there most days standing in the middle of the wharf in his blue apron, talking with everyone who walked by. If you met him once, he would remember you and you would certainly remember him; his loud but loving demeanor was unforgettable.
Vince was a real people-person, making life-long friends wherever he went. He is remembered for his simple wisdom and wonderful sense of humor. An active member of Shoreline Community Church, his faith defined him and influenced every part of his life.
Vince is survived by his wife of 31 years, Jeanette; his children, Christine Church and Natalie, Jana, Matthew and Caitlin Liguori; his grandchildren, Debbie and Tim Church and Siena Rose Liguori-Colson and his sisters, Lucy Ann (Fernando) Higuera, Mary (Dave Balesteri) Liguori and Donna (Dave) Duvall.
