Vincent Liguori

Carmel Valley ~ A Celebration of Life service for Vince Liguori will take place on Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at 4:00 pm at Shoreline Community Church, 2500 Garden Road, Monterey.

Vincent A. Liguori, born April 11, 1949 in New York, NY, passed away on June 16 following a courageous battle with cancer. When he was a year old, his family moved to Monterey and Vince attended local schools before graduating from Monterey High School. He then attended Christ for the Nations College in Dallas where he met his future wife, Jeanette.

Vince and Jeanette then returned to Monterey where they started a family and he returned to the family business, Liberty Fish Company, on Fisherman’s Wharf. You could find him there most days standing in the middle of the wharf in his blue apron, talking with everyone who walked by. If you met him once, he would remember you and you would certainly remember him; his loud but loving demeanor was unforgettable. Vince was a real people-person, making life-long friends wherever he went. He is remembered for his simple wisdom and wonderful sense of humor. An active member of Shoreline Community Church, his faith defined him and influenced every part of his life. Vince is survived by his wife of 31 years, Jeanette; his children, Christine Church and Natalie, Jana, Matthew and Caitlin Liguori; his grandchildren, Debbie and Tim Church and Siena Rose Liguori-Colson and his sisters, Lucy Ann (Fernando) Higuera, Mary (Dave Balesteri) Liguori and Donna (Dave) Duvall.

Memorial contributions may be made to Wells Fargo Account #8226781907. Please go to <> to post photos, leave messages and share favorite memories of Vince for his family.

The wharf will never be the same. Vince was always there, worked so hard. He will surely be missed in so many ways. Beautiful smile and talked to all the people as they went by, never too busy for anyone. He will be so missed. He had time for everyone he knew.

Dearest Jeanette - Natalie, Jana, Matt and Caitlin,
Our family sends our deepest condolences and love to you. We were stunned by this news. Whenever I saw you and Vince hold hands it reminded me of two puzzle pieces that fit together perfectly. Peace to you and the family. We love you.

Jeanette and family,
I was so sorry to have missed Vince's service. I'm sure you know I would have been there if I could. The wharf feels empty without Vince but I find some comfort in knowing that two good buddies and brothers in Christ are together again. Thank God for the faith knowing that we'll see them again one day. My heart and prayers are with you all at this sad time.

Jeanette and family,
I am so sorry to hear of Vince's passing. He was one in a million a real special guy. He made me feel so comfortable when I started working on the wharf and was so kind to my family as well. My boys loved seeing him at Liberty and checking out his crabs. He will be missed. I am sorry that I missed the services I wish I could have been there to pay my respects to you, your family and to Vince.
My prayers are with all of you.

Jeanette, We are so sorry to hear of Vince's passing. We deeply regret not knowing of his memorial service, for we would have been there for sure. We always loved seeing Vince at the shop on the wharf. He was always friendly and warm and just easy to relate to.
Our sincerest condolences,
John and Mary McKenna
