Warren P. Schmidt

Castroville ~ Warren P. Schmidt, born May 24, 1922 in Stockton, passed away at his home on January 11, 2012. After graduating from Stockton High School, Warren was a lifelong farmer in San Joaquin County except for his service in the US Army during World War II.

Warren farmed in the San Joaquin Delta where his grandfather, Warren Jones (Roberts Island) and his father, Howard H. Schmidt (Upper Jones Tract) farmed. He was a membe of the Asparagus Growers Association, serving one term as president in the 1960’s. Following his retirement, Warren and his wife retired to their Castroville home where they had vacationed for many years.

Warren is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Howard and Lisa Schmidt of Sacramento. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean, in 2002 and his daughter, Ann, in 2008.
