Monterey ~ William F. Kauzlaric, a native of Coal City, Illinois, passed away peacefully at Community Hospital on March 22 with his family by his side. He served in the US Coast Guard, patrolling the streets of Monterey during World War II. William retired as a Production Manager for Mission Linen after 30 years. He turned his life-long hobby as a skilled cabinet maker into a second career of over ten years.
William was a member of St. John’s Chapel and the Carpenter’s Union.
William is survived by his wife, Mary, with whom he celebrated 66 years of marriage on March 15; his daughters, Vicki (Ron) Langford, Kathy Feather and Carol (Chad) Royal, all of Monterey; his sister, Mary Hundley; his grandchildren, Deborah Stickley, Jennifer Cormier, Stephen Feather, Ashley Langford and Michael, Allison, Mandy and Jordan Royal; his great-grandchildren, Victoria Lamb, Christopher Stickley, Clarissa Cormier, Veronica Gee and Hunter Feather; his great-great-granddaughter, Mary Lamb and his nieces and nephew, Peggy Hundley and Dorla and Darryl Cantu. He was preceded in death by his sister, Sophie Cantu, and his nephew, Donald Cantu.
William’s family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to Drs. Karim Tadlaoui and Leighton Sweet as well as Marlinda and the other R.N.’s and staff at Terrace West at Community Hospital. Their excellent medical care, concern and loving support made a great difference and will be appreciated always.
Funeral services will take place at the Santa Rosalia Chapel of San Carlos Cemetery in Monterey this Friday, March 30 at 1:00 PM followed by entombment. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. John’s Chapel, 1490 Mark Thomas Dr., Monterey, 93940.
