
Yoshio "Randy" Satow passed away peacefully on September 26th with his family at his side following a five month battle with cancer. He is survived by Margaret, his loving wife of 63 years, along with children, Wendy (David) Nishida; Scott (Cynthia) Satow, DDS; Bruce (Dawn) Satow; Gregg (Julie) Satow, M.D. along with 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Randy was born in Walnut Grove, California to Torazo and Yoneko (Hattori) Satow on June 6, 1926. During WWII, he and his family were relocated to Tule Lake, CA, then Rohwer, Arkansas until 1943. He graduated from high school in Denver, Colorado. In 1945, he moved to Monterey, California and on August 19, 1951, he married Margaret Kodama. He worked as a landscaper until 1964 when he started selling cars for Roller Chevrolet. He also acquired his real estate brokers license. He retired in 1991. Randy was passionate about fishing and golf.
He was deeply loved by his family and very proud of the legacy that he created. He embraced every day with enthusiasm and purpose. He had no regrets when he passed, having lived a long life full of love, laughter, family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at the Monterey Peninsula Buddhist Temple on Saturday October 18th at 2 PM.
