I am heartbroken. Barbara, you asked me to pray for you, I did. I called a few times but knowing you I left you in peace. You told me that you knew you would not survive and I believed you.
We had so much love and understanding for each other. Children of the same background, experiences, taste and so much more. You bore way too much and so bravely. Your twinkle in your eyes will always be in my mind, your voice will always be in my ears and our shared sense of humour in my heart. Now I will have to say "I saw Lillian and Barbara at Bergdorfs this morning." Rest in peace with those whom you loved and loved you forever.

Barbara was truly one of the best friends I have ever had. She was always there whenever I needed her. She had so many special gifts, but I will always remember her generosity the most. She housed myself and my family when we asked, she changed my entire life by just picking up the phone one day many years ago. Her wit, sense of humor, and candor inspired me to be a stronger person.  She had the ability to show her elegant New York City lifestyle while at the same time fostering her deep love of her small farming community.  She touched everyone she met with so much grace.
