David Baron, born July 2, 1918, passed away Friday January 16th. He was born in New York to parents Benjamin and Ella Bloom. He was predeceased by his wife Sylvia in 2012 after 71 years of marriage, and by daughter, Caroldale Korotzer.
David was a true hero, was loved greatly by his family, and will be sorely missed. In addition to being a World War II Navy veteran, he was recognized as a "Hero Among Us" in People Magazine for saving the life of a 3 year old girl in 2008. He was also active in the Jewish War Veterans and was a dedicated volunteer at the Kravis Center since its inception.
He is survived by daughter Hanalee Mazer and her husband Lloyd; three grandchildren, Craig Mazer and partner, Stacey, Todd Mazer and wife Melissa, Melissa Berger and husband Craig, and three great-grandchildren, Zoe, Shaylin and Brynlee.
Funeral services at Star of David Funeral Chapel of the Palm Beaches, 9321 Memorial Park Road, West Palm Beach, FL 33412 Monday, January 19, 2015. The family will be receiving guests at 9:00 AM with funeral services to start at 9:30 AM.
