David Jules Nemeroff

David Jules Nemeroff was born on November 8, 1950, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His life was a testament to love, resilience, loyalty, and dedication. The cherished son of Ethel Auritsky and Herbert Nemerofsky, David was raised with the values of compassion and integrity—values that remained at the heart of the man he became.

David possessed a remarkable inner strength. He was not one to complain or burden others with his troubles. He tended to keep things “schtum,” quietly facing life’s challenges with strength, dignity, and his unmistakable sense of humor.

On February 7, 1975, David married the love of his life, Eileen Patricia Sheridan, in Miami, Florida. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, travel, and countless cherished memories. Their marriage endured for more than 51 years, a testament to their unwavering love and devotion to one another.

David was the proud father of two children, Matthew Adam Nemeroff and Heather Leigh Nemeroff. His children were the light of his life, and nothing brought him greater pride than watching them grow and build lives of their own. He was also blessed with two grandchildren, who brought him immeasurable happiness and gave him countless reasons to smile.

Basketball was another lifelong love of David’s. A talented player in high school, he was offered basketball scholarships to two well-known universities. His love for the game never left him. Long after his school days were behind him, David could still be found on the basketball court at the Michael-Ann Russell Jewish Community Center in Ojus. The game remained an important part of his life and a reflection of the energy and competitive spirit he carried with him.

Those who knew David will remember a man of quiet strength, integrity, kindness, and a wonderful sense of humor. He had a way of making people laugh and feel at ease, and his warmth extended far beyond his immediate family.

David was predeceased by his beloved parents, Ethel and Herbert; his cherished daughter, Heather; and other dear members of his family, including his brother-in-law Edward P. Sheridan; sisters-in-law Margaret Sheridan and Teresa Theckston; his mother-in-law Jacqueline Theckston; father-in-law Warren Theckston; and Eileen’s father, Edward T. Sheridan.

He leaves behind his devoted wife, Eileen; his beloved son, Matthew; his treasured grandchildren; his brother, Stephen Nemeroff; his sister-in-law Jacqueline Sherriton and her husband, Brian; his brother-in-law Gerald T. Sheridan; his sister-in-law Dorothy Passini and her husband, Dennis; and his nephews and nieces, Josh and his wife, Marie, Philip, Jenna, and Olivia and her husband, Colin. Each of them will carry forward David’s legacy in their own way.

David had many friends and associates throughout his life, but Rick Ciccotelli was much more than a friend—he was David’s “brother.” Rick, his wife Linda, their daughter Gina and her spouse Maurice, and the late Mr. C were truly family to David, and their bond held a special place in his heart.

In accordance with David’s wishes, a private ceremony will be held to celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in David’s memory to Treasure Coast Hospice, whose compassion and care reflect so much of what David valued throughout his life.

David Nemeroff lived a life centered on the things that mattered most to him: family, loyalty, friendship, laughter, and love. His absence will be deeply felt by those fortunate enough to have known him, but the stories, laughter, lessons, and memories he leaves behind will endure.

He was deeply loved, and he will be deeply missed.
