Esther S. Mirkin (87) of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 25, 2015, four months following the passing of her beloved husband Howard. She is survived by her daughter Helene, son Mark, daughter in law Liz, grandson Kenny and granddaughter Emily. Born and raised in Manhattan, Esther graduated from Hunter College and then worked in retailing for several years until marrying Howard in 1958 and becoming a mother, raising her family first in Jackson Heights, Queens and then in Baldwin, Long Island. She and Howard relocated to Florida in 1985, where she greatly enjoyed being a grandmother and living the good life for the last 30 years. Since 2014 she lived at Brookdale Senior Living Solutions. The Mirkin family wishes to express its gratitude to Hospice of Palm Beach County for compassionate care in the weeks leading up to Esther’s peaceful passing. Funeral services will be a private family affair.
