She was born on December 13, 1938, in Brooklyn, New York to Benjamin and Susie Reznick.
A beloved and cherished presence in the lives of those who knew her, Evelyn will be remembered for the steady kindness she showed to others, the resilience with which she met in dealing with several bouts of cancer, and the quiet bravery that so often inspired the people around her.
Evelyn devoted herself to her family and to the work that supported it, serving as the office manager of her husband’s dental practice with care, reliability, and a generous spirit. She and her husband, Dr. Norman Meyers, shared 43 years of marriage—years marked by devotion, perseverance, and the enduring strength of partnership.
A woman of warmth and discernment, Evelyn traveled extensively and took genuine delight in shopping and finding the best bargains—knowledge she happily passed along to her children, turning everyday moments into lasting lessons and shared memories. Even in the simplest expressions, she could capture a lifetime of personality and affection; in her own words: “Give me chocolate.”
Evelyn was preceded in death by her brother, Dr. Louis Reznick; and her daughter, Cindy Meyers.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Norman Meyers; her daughters, Bonni (Shawn) Snyder, Patricia (Jeffrey) Desatnick, and Katie (Joseph) Chouinard; her son, Frederick Blacksin; her grandchildren, Brittany Desatnick, Brandon Desatnick, and Chloe Snyder; and her sister in law, Sylvia Reznick.
A Funeral Service will be held at South Florida National Cemetery, 6501 FL-7, Wellington, FL 33449, on June 3, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Match Made in Heaven Animal Rescue or the American Cancer Society.
