Florence Seiman

Florence was born near Sambor, Poland and came to the United States in 1947 after World War 2. She was married to Isadore Sonne and had a son, Leonard Sonne. Later she married Harold Seiman and had a daughter, Rhonda Seiman.

Florence was a highly educated woman with multiple Master’s degrees. Initially, she was a kindergarten teacher and ultimately became an administrator directing the NYC Russian Bilingual Program for High Schools. She was previously in the fashion industry and was a partner in a Ready to Wear Dress Business. She enjoyed tennis, playing cards, dancing and going to parties.

Florence believed in giving back to those less fortunate and mentored and lifted up many people who were immigrants, as she was. She was a determined survivor of the Holocaust and always felt a connection to her Jewish roots. She maintained dear friendships and was loyal and generous to both family and friends.

Florence is survived by her daughter Rhonda Seiman; her son in law Bennett Sosna; her son Dr. Leonard Sonne; her daughter-in-law MaryBeth Sonne; granddaughter Janine Sosna Weissman and her grand son in law Bryan Weissman; her grandson Paul Sonne, her granddaughter in law Courtney Weaver, her grandson James Sonne, her great granddaughters, Maya Sonne and Nina Sonne, her nieces, Andrea Markowitz and Adele Taylor, her nephews Michael Bloom, Elliot Bloom, and Steven Bloom.

Florence was preceded in death by her husband Harold Seiman.

Funeral Services and Burial for Florence will be held 12:00pm, Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at IJ Morris at Star of David of the Palm Beaches, 9321 Memorial Park Road, Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33412.
