He was born April 5, 1944, in Bloomfield Ct. to the late Samuel and Celia Levin. He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Mary Levin and brother, Martin Levin.
Survivors include his daughters, Dianne (Sean) Daks of Lake Worth, FL. Shelley (Gary) Weems, of Calhoun, La. his grandchildren Samantha (Kaleb), Jennifer, Madison, Benjamin, and Zoey. Brother, Warren Levin. Gary was a very active member of the Lions Club serving as President (three time), Treasurer, and Director during his time. He was also a member of the Order of the Golden Chain, Zone chair and Lions Camp Drive Director. Gary received several commendations for his work with the Lions Club such as Lion of the Year (2 time), Distinguished Service Award, President Appreciation Award, Past District Governors Award, and being named Melvin Jones Recipient.
Gary was also very involved in his community, Indian Lake Estates, serving as a member of the Library Board, President of the Board of Directors for many years, and President of the Utility Board of Directors. Gary was also involved in Polk County as a member of the C.A.P.S. program, and the C.E.R.T. Team. Gary proudly served as the Director of Race for the Kids Foundation. Gary was also involved with his Temple serving on the Board of Directors of Temple Sholom in Pompano Beach.
Gary will be missed by his family, the many friends he has met along the way and his community.
A graveside service will be held 11am on Thursday April 11, 2024 at the Star of David Cemetery of the Palm Beaches.
In lieu of Flowers, donations may be made in his memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or The American Cancer Society.
