Harriet was born and raised in New York City by her parents Max and Helen, with much time spent with a close circle of extended family. Harriet is survived by Bruce, her beloved husband of almost 72 years, their son Michael (Jess) Wallach, their daughter Karen (Allen) Shelton and granddaughter Laura Shelton. She is also survived by her brother Robert Keller and many members of the Goldstein Family circle.
Harriet married young, but earned her bachelor’s degree and Masters of Library Science over time while raising her family in Southampton, NY. She spent many years as the school librarian for Bridgehampton High School where she was a favorite of her students.
After she retired, she moved to Palm Beach Gardens where she loved playing mah jongg, bridge, poker and tennis. Harriet was always up for any games that involved wagering and being with friends. She also enjoyed her book club, her cruises and her time volunteering as a senior companion. Most of all, she treasured time spent with family.
Harriet’s warmth, compassion and sense of humor will be forever remembered and deeply missed.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society, two charities that she supported in honor of her parents, or Trustbridge Hospice of Palm Beach County.
