He was born on September 21, 1931, in New York, New York to Morris Silverman and Sophie (nee Ames) Silverman.
Howard was predeceased by his wife, Barbara Silverman.
He is survived by his daughter, Mindy Silverman; son, Jeffrey (Beth) Silverman; granddaughters, Lauren Silverman and Lea Silverman; nephew, Craig Safran; niece, Lisa Safran; and grand niece, Renee Safran.
A private funeral service for Howard will be held by the family.
In honor of Howard's memory, donations can be made to 'Repair the World', or 'Little Shelter Animal Rescue and Adoption Center'.
