Ilene Joy Kan, 62, of Palm Beach Gardens, died October 23 following a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was a dedicated teacher at Jupiter Elementary School for 22 years. She loved the beach and all nature, music and dancing, and baking treats for others to enjoy. She will be remembered for her contagious smile, strong work ethic, and tireless generosity. She lived for her family, friends and students, with joy and gratitude for each day, and was an inspiration to all who knew her. She truly made the world a better place. She is survived by her loving husband, Alan Kan; children, Marni Kan (Ziv Younger) and Jordan Kan; grandson, Judah Younger; sister, Debra (Ben) Rachman; and mother, Judith Danziger. Funeral Services will be held Monday, October 27, 2014, 2pm at IJ Morris at Star of David Cemetery of the Palm Beaches, 9321 Memorial Park Road, West Palm Beach. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hospice of Palm Beach County and Temple Beth David in Palm Beach Gardens.
