Lawrence was born on Manhattan's Upper East side to Jack and Madeleine Magenheim. It was a city he loved all of his life.
His family moved to White Plains, NY where he graduated high school and then graduated from Pace University and earned a graduate degree from FIT in Marketing and Advertising. He was employed by well- known corporations until moving to LA, California and starting his own company in the gift industry. Until retirement, he was a national sales manager in the gift industry back in NYC. He had an amazing talent as a salesman, trainer, and organizing and setting up his companies trade shows with impeccably good taste. His charm, humor, and integrity made him both popular and successful during most of his life.
He married his second wife Suzanne Chait, LCSW, a psychotherapist in private practice and former director in the NYC Dept. of Health and Mental Hygiene, where they shared homes in Manhattan and Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. They honeymooned in Greece, Turkey, Israel, and Egypt. Later they travelled extensively. Larry especially enjoyed Barcelona and Lake Como. They travelled annually to Aruba and Kennebunkport.
Lawrence enjoyed his best friends, a good meal, especially a good deli, movies, theater, the rock and roll oldies, writing lyrics, the Yankees, horseback- riding, and shopping.
Although he survived yet suffered various illnesses in later life, he persevered courageously with his loved and loving wife until he couldn't. He was a good husband who said, " I had a good life. " Born prematurely, he said, "I came into the world early, I will leave it early." He lived to be 77.
He is also survived by two adult children and two grandchildren.
He will be buried in Hartsdale, NY at Ferncliff Cemetery. He was a member of Temple Judea in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
