Marion Elizabeth Polonsky

Marion Elizabeth Polonsky, 97, of West Palm Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2026, after a long and wonderfully full life devoted to family, friendship, and service. She leaves behind a legacy of love and generosity that touched countless lives.

Born in New York City on July 10, 1929, Marion was the youngest daughter of the late Jewel and Arthur Loeb and the beloved sister of the late Arlene Sills and Jeanne Loeb. She grew up with a strong sense of family and community that remained at the heart of who she was throughout her life.

Marion married Stanley Berman, and together they raised their three children, Jean Berman, Carol Berman Reese, and Mark Berman, in Brookline, Massachusetts. Her family was always her greatest source of pride and joy. Following Stanley’s passing, Marion married Norman Polonsky, and together they traded New England winters for a new life in sunny South Florida.

Marion’s professional life reflected her compassion and dedication to helping others. Early in her career, she worked in a nursery school serving children with special needs. She later joined Boston Children’s Hospital Medical Center, where she became Head Technician of the EKG Department, combining her technical expertise with the caring spirit that defined her.

In South Florida, Marion found another meaningful avenue for service through the United Order of True Sisters (UOTS), an organization dedicated to supporting families affected by cancer. Over many years, she became a prominent leader, ultimately serving as National President. She organized fundraising efforts, mobilized members of senior communities, and worked tirelessly to help children battling cancer experience the joy and freedom of summer camp. Her efforts provided not only financial support, but moments of happiness for children and families facing extraordinarily difficult circumstances.

Marion brought the same commitment to her community at Century Village, where she served on her condominium board as Treasurer, Vice President, and President. Whether raising money for children, helping a neighbor, organizing an event, or simply being there for a friend, Marion gave generously of her time, energy, and heart.

Yet her greatest happiness came from the people she loved. She treasured her family, especially her two grandsons and three great-grandchildren, and delighted in watching each generation grow. She had family photos posted everywhere in her home. She loved music and the arts, was an enthusiastic MahJong and Rummikub player, a devoted dog lover, and someone who made friends easily and cherished them throughout her life.

Marion understood that a meaningful life was measured not simply by what one accomplished, but by what one gave. She gave abundantly. She will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, friends, and the many people whose lives she touched. Her greatest legacy is the love she shared, the lives she enriched, and the example she leaves behind: to live fully, love generously, and help others always.

In lieu of flowers, those who wish to honor Marion’s memory may make a donation to a charity of their choice or to the Pediatric Oncology Support Team (POST), whose mission reflects Marion’s lifelong commitment to supporting children and families facing cancer.
