Dear Mrs. Wapner—

I worked with the small firm on the 7th floor of 121 S. Broad St. In the early seventies.  Mr. Wapner was a great man.  I have wonderful memories of working there with you as well.  

Occasionally I review these notices and was so saddened to read Mr. Wapner’s notice.  He had what I always described as “that”presence that great attorneys possess!  He was a gentleman.  I remember how he helped my dear friend when she was experiencing difficulties.  He was an excellent lawyer but an even better man!  

I hope that you and your family will take comfort in knowing that many people are thinking of you.  And although many years have gone by, I am as sad as though I typed a document for Mr. Wapner last week!

Dearest Elinor and Family,
I was devastated to learn of "MB"s death. I think of him every July 28th, and this past one was heartbreaking.  MB was kind to me, always. He was a father figure to me and he took me under his wing. He trusted me and gave me enormous responsibilities with his work. He gave me confidence that I did not have, and was understanding when I was under personal duress. I never would have left his employ had I not had personal issues. I missed seeing him and listening to his advice for many years thereafter, but many of his words stayed with me. He always talked of family, (and you, Elinor, were always so kind to me as well), and loved telling stories of his children's accomplishments. He was special and I am thankful that, many years ago, I was a part of his life. I am so very sorry for your loss, Elinor. I am will always remember him for the special man he was, especially every July 28th.

Mort was always warm, entertaining and funny when in his company.  He will be missed.  Love to Elinor.

I am sorry to hear that Morty passed away. I remember him from when I was a little boy. My grandmother was Marcella Dworkin, and she always spoke fondly of Morty. I think they had a connection from childhood and growing up during the Depression together.

My condolences from a cousin far away but close in heart. 

I was a runner for Wapner & Newman in the early eighties. One day Mort asked me to get his car washed. It was a beautiful blue eldorado and I was in my glory driving it. Unfortunately, I crashed it twice on the way back after I had it washed. It was tough telling Mort as I handed him back the keys. Mort didn’t blink an eye and never mentioned it again. I think he even let me drive it again after he got it back from the body shop. 

Mort was very classy man who always treated me well. My condolences to his family. He was a great man!
