Peter was a successful and well-known dentist, practicing most of his career in Cambridge, Massachusetts, as well as beloved husband, father, grandfather, sailor, tennis and golf player, violinist and music aficionado. Peter grew up in Rome, New York, with his brother Murray and sister Nancy. His mother, Bernice was a pianist who inspired his lifelong passion for music. His father, George, ran a scrap metal and materials business but also performed as a cantor at the local synagogue. An accomplished student, Peter graduated near the top of his class at Rome Free Academy and received a full scholarship to Harvard College. In his first week at Harvard, Peter met Sylvia Emily Resnick. Happily married for 66 years, they raised two sons, Daniel and Chad, in Newton, Massachusetts. After college, Peter attended and graduated from the University of Maryland Dental School. Thereafter, he served as a Captain in the United States Air Force. Devoted to his Jewish faith, he and his family were members of Temple Emmanuel in Newton, Massachusetts for many years. In Florida, Sylvia and Peter were members of Temple Judea. Peter’s family life centered around music, theater, skiing at Waterville Valley, New Hampshire, and spending time at New England beaches, especially in Ogunquit, Maine, and Falmouth, Massachusetts. Sylvia and Peter loved to attend the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Tanglewood, and Broadway shows. After moving from Massachusetts to Florida, he and Sylvia were devoted audience members at the symphony at Kravis Center for the Performing Arts and the Maltz Jupiter Theater. Classical music was the soundtrack of his life.
