Rachel Cohen Mick (57) of Jupiter, Florida passed on Monday, February, 22 in her home following a 3 year battle with Stage IV breast cancer. She was born to Milton Cohen and Myrna (Zeldin) Cohen on February 5,1959, in Brooklyn, New York, and growing up moved to Queens, New York and eventually to Rockville Centre, New York. She leaves many loved ones behind to grieve her passing, including her friend and husband David G. Mick; son Matthew L. Rosenblum of Lexington, Kentucky, daughter Brittany K. Rosenblum of West Palm Beach, Florida, step-daughter Justicia R. Rhodus of Cincinnati, Ohio, step-son Eric H. Mick of Charlotte, North Carolina, grand-children Avery M. Rosenblum, Tyler J. Mick, Caiden J. Mick and Isabella L. Rhodus. Also surviving her is her mother Myrna (Zeldin) Cohen of Rockville Centre, New York, sister Eve (Franco) Morales of Huntington Station, New York, nephews Benjamin Morales and Harrison Morales. She was preceded in death by her father Milton Cohen. Rachel attended Albany State University where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and followed at Queens College where she received her Master's Degree in Library Science. Rachel's career spanned a number of Librarian positions in various systems, culminating in a position she loved at the Palm Beach County Library System. It was here that she established the Consumer Health Information System (CHIS) and was recognized at the local, state and national levels for her work as a Consumer Health Librarian. Services will be held at noon on Friday, February 26 at the Star of David Cemetery, 9321 Memorial Park Rd., West Palm Beach, Florida. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Friends of the Palm Beach County Library System, 3650 Summit Blvd., West Palm Beach, Florida 33406-4198 in memory of Rachel C. Mick.
