We honor the beautiful life of Richard K Steck aka Fox Hole Mr. Richie, the original Long Island Sandman. Born on December 27, 1934 in East Meadow. He grew up with his sister Anna, and brother Charles who have both passed and his Sister Emma who at 96 is still going strong. Richie is also survived by his loving sister and brother in law Sandy and Barry and their families. He met the love of his life Roz when he was just 19. He was blessed with two sons Wayne and Paul who both adored their father. He taught them both the finer Rube Goldberg methods of repairs and maintenance. There was nothing Richie couldn’t fix with a screwdriver and a little duct tape. Although Richie was a successful entrepreneur, family mattered most to him. He loved spending time with his 5 grandchildren Lindsey, Max, Cameron, Jagger and Sabrina. He would always attend their games, dance recitals and going to nascar races in the camper was always a highlight for all. Then the fourth generation of great grandchildren filled his heart. Lielle, Jonah and Reed certainly kept Papa Richie busy. Last but not least there was his dog Shayna; a 70th birthday gift that turned out to be the love of his life and treated her like a daughter. Loved by everyone, Richie was a unique, kind, sincere and funny individual. Everyone who ever met him will never forget how truly special he was. He did what he wanted, said it like it was, and always had a heartfelt or funny story to tell. He will be missed by all. Services to be held at Beth Moses Cemetery in West Babylon on May 15th 10:00am. Shiva to be held on 15-16th at his grandson Max’s house at 86 Ridge Rd.
