

Levy, Robert S. age 80 of Palm Beach Gardens, died April 5. Beloved husband of Ceil N. Levy; Loving father of Jay Levy. Mitchell (Sharon) Levy and Sander (Felicia) Levy); Cherished grandfather of Alyx, Simon, Morgan, Max, and Brett. Brother of Irwin Levy.
A prominent attorney for over 55 years, Mr. Levy was a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and Harvard Law School, a member of The Florida Bar and the Palm Beach County Bar Association. He was also a member of the Bars of the Superior and Supreme Courts of Pennsylvania and was admitted to practice in the United States District Court (Southern and Middle Districts of Florida), Trial Bar of United States District Court, U.S. Court of Appeals (Fifth Circuit) and the U.S. Supreme Court. Mr. Levy was also a certified mediator in the Florida court system, lectured for CLE program of The Florida Bar, and holds the highest possible rating (AV Preeminent) published by Martindale-Hubbell.
Mr. Levy was a founder of the Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County in West Palm Beach, Florida and was its second president. Mr. Levy served on the Executive Committee of the Federation for many years. During his term as president, the Palm Beach County Federation received its very first allocation from the Community Chest of Palm Beach, as well as an outstanding award from the Florida Council of Human Relations for integration of its Camp and Nursery School. This was an important occasion in the development of Jewish posture in Palm Beach County, Florida. Previously he chaired the Federation’s Community Planning Committee and sat as a member of the Endowment Fund Committee as well as the Task Force on Jewish Education. Mr. Levy has been a member of the Federation’s Board of Directors continuously since its inception and has several times served as General Chairman of the Federation’s Combined Jewish Appeal Campaign.
Mr. Levy was selected as a member of the National Young Leadership Cabinet of the United Jewish Appeal and rose through the ranks to become a national Vice Chair-man of that group as well as a member of its Executive Committee for several years.
Mr. Levy, created, organized and managed the first Young Leadership Program in Palm Beach County.
Mr. Levy has served as a member of the National Campaign Cabinet of the UJA and for several years was a member of the Executive Committee of the National Lead-ership Committee of the Council of Jewish Federations and Welfare Funds. He was a founding Vice President of the Palm Beach Chapter of the American Jewish Committee and is a Past President of Palm Beach B’nai B’rith. He has served as a Vice President and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Temple Beth El in West Palm Beach, Florida, and he has been active in the organization of a Men’s Chapter of ORT in Palm Beach County.
Mr. Levy and his wife have been designated as Members of the Pillars Society of the Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County. Additionally, Mr. Levy and his wife, through their Philanthropic Fund, have created the Robert S. & Ceil N. Levy Young Leadership Award which is awarded yearly by the Federation.
Mr. Levy has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Morse Geriatric Center, and Past Co-Chairman of State of Israel Bonds in Palm Beach, and was the Recipient of the ISRAEL 40TH ANNIVERSARY MEDAL. He was active in the United Way of Palm Beach County and a charter member of the Palm Beach CouNty Chapter of the Florida Association for the Gifted.
Services 2 pm Wednesday at Temple Beth El, 2815 N. Flagler Drive, West Palm Beach. Donations may be made to the Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County, The Parkinson’s Foundation, or the Birthright Israel Foundation.
The family will be sitting shiva on Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday evenings (April 9, 10, and 13) starting at 7:00 pm at the Levy home
