Roger Aaron Galvin

Roger Aaron Galvin, 85, of West Palm Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully in his home on July 31, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, leadership and friendship. For over seven years, Roger fought a courageous and challenging battle with cancer, defying the odds multiple times with incredible strength and resilience.

Born in New Haven, Connecticut on January 18, 1941, he was the eldest son of the late Tessie and Herbert Galvin. A natural leader and respected businessman, Roger worked with his parents and brother to build an award winning business Galvin Pools, Orange CT and went on later to become the President of the National Spa and Pool Institute, Arlington, VA. During which time he also served as an appointed member of the Virginia Advisory Committee to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights. He also deployed his leadership skills as a consultant and trainer with Business Design Associates, and the Forum where he made a lasting impact by coaching thousands of individuals over the years.

Beyond his professional success, Roger was a man of many passions. He loved travel, great food, fine wine, and golf, but nothing compared to his love for aviation. As an amateur pilot since the age of 18, flying was his ultimate passion and time spent in the cockpit was the place where he was truly happiest. Roger also possessed an incredible ability to entertain; he delighted people with magic tricks he taught himself as a teenager, and his infectious sense of humor could make anyone laugh. Roger was a magnetic presence whom people were naturally drawn to.

For more than 50 years, Roger was the loving spouse and best friend of Sharon (Gould) Galvin. While he was a friend to many, he was often happiest simply being with Sharon in their homes—first in Westbrook, Connecticut, and later in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Roger’s greatest pride was his family. In addition to his beloved wife, Sharon, he is survived by his two daughters, Lisa-Beth Galvin and Brandee (Galvin) McHale; his son-in-law, Joseph McHale; and his four grandchildren who brought joy to his life: Evan Galvin, Jacob McHale, Lily McHale, and Brady McHale. He is also survived by his loving brother, Joel Galvin, and his loving sister, Sherrie (Galvin) Santiago.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at the Keser Israel Memorial Park on Farwell Street in West Haven, Connecticut. Following the service, family and friends are warmly invited to gather at the Galvin-McHale home in Fairfield, Connecticut, to share a few laughs in true Roger form.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Roger’s honor to Angel Flight NE (www.angelflightne.org), an organization of volunteer pilots providing free air transportation for patients in need of medical care.
